Electroacupuncture
Needles that have already been placed are connected to a device delivering a fine, adjustable impulse – and you help decide how strong it is.

Electroacupuncture is a further development of classical acupuncture: the needles are first placed as usual, and I then connect two of them via fine clips to a small device that delivers a gentle, regular impulse. Most people describe this as a light tapping, tingling or vibrating sensation.
We set the intensity together – it should be clearly noticeable but always comfortable, and it can be adjusted at any point during the treatment. An application usually lasts 15 to 20 minutes within the session.
In my practice, electroacupuncture is generally part of a combined treatment and is included in the session price. It is registered with the EMR as a method in its own right.
When not? If you have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device, no electrical stimulation is carried out; nor is it used over the heart, at the front of the neck, or, during pregnancy, in the abdominal and sacral area. If you have epilepsy, a cardiac arrhythmia or metal implants in the region concerned, please speak to me beforehand.
In TCM, electroacupuncture is traditionally used in a complementary way – it does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.
Traditional application areas
- Musculoskeletal complaints (e.g. back, shoulder, knee)
- Muscular tension
- Longer-standing pain conditions (traditional use)
- As a complement to body acupuncture
