Billing is per treatment, including consultation. Shorter treatments are possible by arrangement.
Combined treatment – at no extra charge
When you book an acupuncture treatment, I usually combine several methods – depending on your constitution, for example electroacupuncture, auricular therapy (ear acupuncture), moxibustion, cupping or herbal patches on acupuncture points. That is why they have no separate line in the table: they are included in the price of the session, and there are no per-method surcharges.
Initial consultation: The first consultation includes a detailed case history as well as pulse and tongue diagnosis. It takes 60 minutes and costs CHF 150 – the same as a regular session.
Insurance & Reimbursement
I am registered with EMR (the Swiss register for empirical medicine). Most supplementary insurance plans for complementary medicine therefore contribute to the treatment costs – as a guide, many plans reimburse 70–80% per session up to an annual maximum; your policy is what counts. Basic insurance (Grundversicherung) does not cover treatments. Please check the extent of your coverage with your insurer before your first appointment – EMR registration alone does not create an entitlement to reimbursement, and each insurer decides according to its own product. Payment for treatments is the patient's responsibility. Whether and to what extent costs are reimbursed depends on your individual policy.

Assura and Visana keep their own lists of recognised therapists alongside the EMR register – I am recognised by both. How much your policy covers is best clarified directly with your insurer.
EMR = ErfahrungsMedizinisches Register, a private Swiss quality register where therapists evidence their training and licence to practise (mine since 2021). The ZSR number is the billing number on your receipt.

Do I need a doctor's referral?
No, you do not need a referral to be treated at my practice. You can book an appointment directly.
Which payment methods are accepted?
You can pay in cash, with TWINT, or by invoice.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring your insurance card and a current list of your medications.
How do I cancel an appointment?
If you cannot attend an appointment, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance by phone or online.
How does reimbursement by the health insurer work?
In four steps: 1. Before your first appointment, ask your supplementary insurance whether Traditional Chinese Medicine with an EMR-registered therapist is covered – quote the ZSR number L892063. 2. You pay for the treatment directly (cash, TWINT or invoice). 3. You receive a receipt containing everything your insurer needs. 4. You submit it to your supplementary insurance.
How many sessions will I need?
We discuss that together after the initial consultation. Appointments often take place one to two weeks apart; we review how things are going at regular intervals, and after every session you are free to decide how to proceed.
